Patrol Division

The backbone — four teams, 2,400 square miles.

Four teams covering the most varied terrain in Idaho. Where every career here begins and every leader is forged.

Regional SWAT Team

Multi-agency tactical element. Tryouts annually.

Multi-agency tactical team with Park City PD. Operators train monthly; night-vision, armored rescue vehicle, and dedicated breaching, sniper, and crisis-negotiation elements.

K-9 Unit

Three teams. Assignment pay + daily care time.

Two dual-purpose (patrol/narcotics) teams and one detection team. Handlers receive assignment pay plus daily care time.

Investigations Division

Persons, property, and the regional narcotics task force.

Plain-clothes assignment with take-home unmarked vehicle and assignment pay. A detective sits on the regional narcotics task force.

UAS (Drone) Team

Thermal Skydio fleet. Part 107 paid by the agency.

Thermal-equipped Skydio fleet for searches, overwatch, and crash mapping. Part 107 certification paid by the agency.

Marine & Backcountry Unit

Boats, UTVs, snowmobiles. Works hand-in-hand with SAR.

Boats on Coldwater Lake all summer; UTVs and snowmobiles year-round. Works hand-in-hand with county Search & Rescue, which the Sheriff’s Office coordinates.

Field Training Officer Cadre

Build the next generation, one trainee at a time.

Selected veteran deputies who build the next generation. FTO pay differential plus first pick of instructor schools.

School Resource Deputies

Eight deputies across eight schools.

Embedded across the Amelia County and Larkspur school districts — from Park City High to Timber Falls Elementary. Full school-year assignment with summer patrol rotation.

Traffic Unit

Crash reconstruction, DRE, DUI emphasis.

ACTAR-certified crash reconstruction, Drug Recognition Experts, commercial vehicle enforcement, and the county’s DUI emphasis program.

Honor Guard & Peer Support

Represent the agency; stand beside deputies.

Collateral assignments representing the agency at ceremonies and standing beside deputies when the job gets heavy.
